DC Solar is a clean energy company that specializes in mobile solar products. We are looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk (AP & AR) to become part of our innovative, team-oriented and rapidly growing company located in Benicia, CA.


Position Description:


The Accounting Clerk will support the accounting operation via AP, AR, reconciliations, and other accounting processes.  Will utilize software systems and accounting know-how to complete moderately complex tasks related to AP and AR functions for DC Solar and its related companies. 


This is a full-time position paying $20-22/hour, DOE.  This position also includes benefits.


Position Responsibilities: 

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy of posted invoices and timely payment of vendor payments, for multiple companies (QuickBooks)
  • Set up and maintain customer / vendor information (QuickBooks)
  • Code invoices, review and help maintain the general ledger, ensuring data integrity (QuickBooks)
  • Research, reconcile and/or resolve account discrepancies (and vendor inquiries) by identifying errors or omissions and taking and/or recommending proper actions in compliance with accounting standards and as appropriate
  • Support the audit process (internal and external) and help ensure that all deliverables are met
  • Maintain financial security by following policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Prepare queries, special reports and complete ad hoc projects as required/requested
  • Protect company operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Provide excellent customer service internally and externally and ensure customer satisfaction
  • General accounting support including administrative duties (filing, copying, scanning, W-9s, etc.) as necessary to support the department and company operations
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in general accounting, payment processing/posting
  • Intermediate skill with Excel
  • Associate’s Degree in accounting or similar field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work overtime and meet deadlines as required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
