The Controller will be the senior most finance and accounting member of the executive team. The role will encourage a collaborative relationship at all levels of the company as well as develop accounting and financial systems to better track the company's performance. The Controller will manage all external relationships including banking, insurance, and tax and audit professionals. Other duties will include the more strategic points around the best practices, KPI's, budgeting and analysis.

  • Management
    o Coordinates and assists with the periodic close processes for Apparent and each related company, supporting the Finance Team to anticipate accounting and financial activity
    o Actively manages externally processed payroll, PTO accrual, expense reporting
    o Actively manages billing, collections, and operational and financial performance
    o Manages outsourced functions and relationships.

  • Reporting and Compliance
    o Implements and maintains periodic reporting on key indicators
    o Calculates, evaluates, and issues financial and operating metrics for internal and external reporting
    o Implements a system of management cost and budgeting with emphasis on continual improvement of financial efficiency
    o Provides financial analyses for capital investment, pricing, contracting
    o Timely reports to all levels of government, tax filings
    o Prepares corporate filings, annual reporting, and reporting to investors


A successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • BA, BS, Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • CPA, preferred

  • MBA, a nice to have

  • 5 to 10 years progressive experience in accounting

  • Strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, ability to implement creative solutions

  • Ability to analyze and clearly define marketing and consumer opportunities into executable plans

  • Ability to manage the execution of plans, measure and track results

  • Demonstrated track record in building collaborative teams

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
