GENERAL
Summary:
The CNC operator will operate a variety of CNC-controlled machines, including milling machine, doweling machine and edgebander.
You will be responsible for set-ups and change-overs, and for loading and unloading machines based upon daily work schedules.
The CNC Operator is also responsible for performing the daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks to keep machine in proper working order.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:
Maintain a safe work environment and compliance with company safety policies.
Ensure machine is safe and ready for the daily manufacturing processes.
Ensure completion of daily parts processing for production.
Operate nested based router, doweling, pocket holing and edgebanding machinery on a daily basis following current production schedule.
Download and run proper CNC programs from network server.
Read and follow fixture CAD drawings to ensure consistency and design standards are met.
Inspect parts for compliance with company and customer quality standards.
Perform timely preventative maintenance activities based upon hours of machine operation.
Report daily schedule completion records to supervisor.
Change tooling when tools need to be replaced or for set up changeovers.
Communicate programming or equipment issues to engineering and/or maintenance personnel.
Keep machine and immediate area clean and organized.
Perform other job-related duties or other assigned tasks and projects as directed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure to 1/16 increments.
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
Must have basic computer skills.
Advanced skills are a plus.
Must be able to find and download program files from a network server.
Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to load and unload 4' x 8' sheets of plywood material on to machine table.
Must be able to read and write to communicate with other team members.
Must be detail oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment producing high quality work and projecting a positive attitude.
Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks demonstrating good time management.
Wear and use designated safety gear as required EDUCATION:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year working in the manufacturing industry, preferably in woodworking facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, use hands or fingers to handle or free objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch or crawl; as well as speak and hear.
The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
The employee must lift and/or move up to 4' x 8' sheets of plywood materials frequently.

JOB COMPLEXITY:
